Shagufta founded Ganga Jamuni in 2019. She is a student of History, Archeology and Art HIstory and has taught at the school as well as university level. Her varied experience encompasses working with underprivileged children and women in rural India as also stints in rural England, Switzerland and the the United States. She also consulted for small grassroot level organisations and also various State Governments and the Government of India. In 2020 she resigned from her last full time role and decided to fully focus on her lifelong passion for oral history documentation, history, travel and research via the Ganga Jamuni Foundation
